Why not make money by posting your photos online?  You can make a ton if you have a huge cache of photos but you could make very little if you don't have many or if they are of low quality.  Here are some places to start looking into posting your photos.
Make Money Online with Stock Photo Agencies
iStock Photo is a good place to start when selling your photography.  I don't use it, but then again, I don't use any photography selling websites.  I'm terrible at the art of picture taking.  I have done some research and heard from friends that iStock Photo is a good place to go.
With ShutterStock you upload your photos and are paid a small sum every time one of your photos is downloaded.  You will be paid $.25 per download.  With a system like this you would want to upload as many pictures as possible. Learn more about Shutterstock.
Fotolia is another microstock site dedicated to hosting your pictures and paying you a commission of the profits. My motto is join as many sites as possible and increase your exposure.
Big Stock Photo, which is a subsidiary of ShutterStock, is another avenue you can use to promote your photography.
Dreamstime is probably the best microstock agency to join if you are a beginner.  They don't have a photographer application process.   You are automatically in.  You just need to make sure your photos are accepted.
If you are looking for a fledgling stock photography site to join, check out Can Stock Photo.
