Seed.com pays, they pay a lot. I have seen articles paying as much as $400 dollars. These articles are a little more in depth, and require research (and sometimes interviews). Seed is also a good place to get some writing ideas. Even if your article isn't accepted, you can still submit it somewhere else and make money off of it.
The concept of Seed.com is simple. You join and then are able to pick from requested articles from the AOL network to write. If your article is accepted, you get paid. Sound simple enough right? The problem comes in where you write your articles and then are refused. Most other sites like this will allow you to keep your article hosted on the site and maybe someone will decide to buy it. On Seed.com you just delete it and move on to another article submission site. There is one good thing about seed though.
Seed.com isn't for me. Most of the articles requested are reserved for specific writers. This means that the amount of articles you get to choose from are few and far between. It's just not worth the hassle.
