Affiliates can make or break you if you are looking at making a good income with Squidoo. Most of your lenses won't make you much money in royalties, but you can make a lot on affiliate earnings. The trick here is to keep tweaking your Squidoo lens until you are converting at a high rate. You will have to promote your lenses as well to get them to rank high on the Google search, which is the only way to convert sales. Some affiliate networks that you can use with Squidoo are Linkshare, Commission Junction, or Pepperjam Network. Squidoo also has their own affiliations with Amazon, Zazzle, Cafe Press, and more.
Squidoo also pays royalties to you according to how your lens ranks. Personally I think this should be on a per lens basis, because some lenses obviously earn more than others per click. The royalties they pay depend on how well Squidoo earned for that period so they rise and fall slightly.
Tier 1 (1-2000) Over $10 per lens.
Tier 2 (2001-10000) About $2.00
Tier 3 (10001-85000) About $.13

Another great writing site available to you is Squidoo. Squidoo has been around for the past few years and was started by Seth Godin. Aside from just having a creepy looking logo, Squidoo has a very high page rank so it is easier to get your pages ranked than a lot of other sites. You will have to put in more work on squidoo than on Ehow because of the structure of the site. The major money makers on Squidoo not only earn from revenue sharing, but from affiliate earnings as well.
