Building websites can be a very lucrative prospect. You can either build them for yourself or get others to pay you to build one. You can make a great deal of money depending on the complexity of the website and your client's knowledge. When building a site for yourself you can make it profitable by hosting advertisements on it.
Building Websites To Increase Income - Why Build Just One?
Depending on what your goals are, you should first determine what kind of website you are going to build and how big it will be. Small websites can make a lot of money so don't feel obligated to build a large one. You will have to pay for web hosting and website creation software. If you are not talented with HTML then there are options for you. Downloadable software is inexpensive but limited, while software kits are great but cost a ton.
Recommended Software Options:
After doing a lot of research I eventually opted to subscribe to Homestead. They offer 3 different plans depending on your website needs. If you are looking to create one basic website, it will cost you around $5 and it will go up from there. I chose this software because it was an all in one deal and I didn't have to know HTML to use it. I wouldn't recommend this site if you are building websites to sell. Unfortunately you will have to spend much more in that case.
Expensive and Professional Option
If you are planning on building websites for sale, I would recommend that you purchase Microsoft Frontpage. This is a windows based program that will give you a lot of flexibility when creating your websites. This doesn't have a web hosting option like Homestead but you won't need that if you are building sites for others. Frontpage will run you about $300, but you can get it for cheaper on Ebay.
